Students will write a 5 to 7 page paper comparing an author and a poet from the course and how they speak about either: body, suffering, language, freedom, salvation. • IDENTIFICATION: How does each woman speak about one of the following: body, suffering, language, freedom, salvation? Expound upon your findings. (at least 1 page) • COMPARE AND CONTRAST: Where are points of contact and points of dissonance? Expound. (at least 1 page) • SYNTHESIS: What theological connections are suggested in and/or through each woman’s work, collectively? Expound upon them. (at least 2 pages) ◦ Student must include references to at least 3 theological texts used in class (you may use additional outside sources in addition to the 3 in-class resources) • REFLECTION: How has one or both artists influenced your art and/or ministry? SUBMISSION GUIDELINES: This paper is to be 5 to 7 full pages (excluding bibliography), 12-point font, Times New Roman, double-spaced, 1-inch margins. Students should utilize a minimum of 3 sources from this course. In addition to these three, referencing readings outside of this course is permitted and encouraged; as long as they prove helpful, they are welcome! Final Presentation Students will be required to offer a 10-minute presentation based on the content of their paper and present three questions for the class to reflect on as a whole. • 10 minute presentation • The class will then take 5 minutes to ask the presenter initial questions. • The presenter will have 5-10 minutes to respond to questions asked from the class. • The next 30-45 minutes of the class will be spent discussing the connections students identify, the questions the presenter brought to the class, and the overall questions brought up from their presentation from the class. • Total presentation time: 20-30 minutes
