I am sending the course schedule for the company project. we have to have one company and 5 peer companies to compare with.

COMPANY PROJECT

Remember that your selected company must be publicly traded, listed on a Canadian or US exchange, have at least five years of trading history. You should not choose banks, insurance companies, real estate companies or oil companies. Companies with recognizable good or services are easier to analyze, companies that are highly diversified are more difficult. You will also have to find a peer group of five competitors, so companies without clear competitors will be more difficult to assess. Before you choose, look for company information on their websites and some of the public data sources discussed in class.

Grading of the project will be done in two stages and will be based on:

Stage 1 10/30 Performance analysis – DuPont ratios and interpretation; market performance statistics; comparison with peer group;

Stage 2 20/30 Working capital analysis – working capital management, cash conversion cycle; comparison with peer group; + Credit analysis – Bond rating; Capital structure – relevant debt ratios like debt equity, debt/assets, interest cover; comparison with peers;

Originality, standard of presentation, quality of conclusions, format will be assessed as part of each stage.
