From Paper 1, John McCain

Leadership Styles and Traits

Lussier & Achau (2012) attempted to categorize traits into five dimensions of dominance (surgency), sociability (agreeableness), emotional stability (adjustment), dependability (conscientiousness) and openness to experience. John McCain was often described as a maverick with a dominant personality and charismatic style. He was independent, fearless, direct and always willing to take the lead regardless of the opposition.(Smith, 2018). McCain showed all five dimensions in the recent healthcare debate, where he defied his party’s attempt to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act because he felt this attempt had not gone through the appropriate process (Torrence, 2018).

Define the course concept, use intext citations, prepares for leader discussion.
